Award winning author Michael Crummey will be the keynote speaker at the 2011 APLA conference On the Edge.
Michael Crummey has published seven books, including Hard Light and Salvage (poetry), Flesh and Blood (short stories) and two previous novels, River Thieves and The Wreckage. His latest novel, Galore, was published in 2009 and has since won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize (Canada/Caribbean Region), the Canadian Authors Association Fiction Award, and was shortlisted for the Governor General's Award and several other national and regional awards. His work has appeared in The Penguin Book of Canadian Short Stories and in The New Canon: An Anthology of Canadian Poetry. He lives in St. John's, Newfoundland.
