What is ?
Get It @ Memorial is a Library service which provides a link between the citations you retrieve in article index searches and the full text of the articles cited.
How does it work?
Simply click on to view a menu of options for obtaining access.
For journals purchased for you by Memorial University Libraries, the menu will provide links to the full text of articles.
Direct links will say either:
- Article which will lead directly to the article or
- Journal which will lead you to the homepage for the journal from which you can locate and select the article cited.
This kind of linking is new and not all databases are able to supply the data needed for matching citation to full text. If a direct link is not available, other options will be presented. These options include:
- links to Search MUN Library Catalogue by ISSN and By Journal Title to check further for online access or to check for access to the print version of the article
- a link to Request it using Document Delivery to submit a request form which will have been automatically completed for you.
Note that in some cases clicking will bring you directly to the article.
Why don't I see buttons in a database that is Get It enabled?
The Get It software requires Java Script to be enabled.
In some databases the button may not appear on the brief results screen. You may need to view the more complete record to see the button.
Is the Get It service available to all library users?
The Get It service is available to all registered students, staff and faculty. It can be used from on or off campus. Library users accessing resources from off-campus will be prompted to sign in through the Off-Campus Login.
