How does it work?

The ASIN Borrowing Card gives you in-person borrowing privileges at all CAUL/CDBUA and the CURBA libraries. Note that you need to present both your ASIN Card and your University ID to borrow at other institutions.

Who is eligible?

The ASIN Borrowing Card is available to all Memorial faculty and students. ASIN Borrowing Cards will not be issued to users from the general public (i.e., guest borrowers, alumni, and so forth.)

ASIN card holders will be responsible for following the local regulations appropriate to their level of privilege. e.g. A MUN faculty member visiting and using libraries at UNB will be given the same borrowing privileges as a UNB faculty member; or a MUN undergraduate student visiting and using libraries at Dalhousie will be given the same borrowing privileges as a Dalhousie undergraduate.

How do I get an ASIN card?

MUN users may contact Circulation departments at any MUN library. DistancePlus students can obtain an ASIN card by contacting
DistancePlus QEII (qeiiplus@mun.ca) or DistancePlus Health (hslill@mun.ca).

Borrowing privileges

ASIN Card Holders will have the same level of in-person borrowing privileges as they have at their home institution. ASIN users are not permitted access to the following services:

Returning material

Borrow anywhere, return anywhere! Materials borrowed on the ASIN borrower's card may be returned to any CAUL/CDBUA library.

Overdues & Recalls

The ASIN card holder will be subject to the rules and regulations of the lending library. If fines are incurred, the lending library will follow normal procedures to the extent possible. In outstanding cases, the home institution will be informed of the delinquency and will apply the full force of its regulations to enforce the judgments of the lending institution.
