CMC Description
The Curriculum Materials Centre is a specialized library providing Faculty of Education students and instructors
with the Newfoundland and Labrador
provincial curriculum materials and other teaching resources. It is located in the Faculty of Education (E2030)
Collection:
- Current texts and teaching materials authorized for Newfoundland and Labrador's K-12 schools, as listed in the Department of Education's
Program of Studies
- Current provincial curriculum guides. These can also be found online
- A substantial collection of children's and adolescent literature
- An AV collection of VHS/DVD teacher training materials
- A restricted collection of educational tests and measurements
- Supplementary curriculum materials, including superceded texts and guides
- A non-circulating collection of archival textbooks
- A small collection of magazine and journal subscriptions
Services (available at cost):
- Consumable supplies for creating classroom projects
- Laminating
- Binding
- Photocopying by coin or Campus Card (Student ID card)
- Printing through a LabNet account
Facilities:
- LabNet computers to access the Memorial University Libraries catalogue and Internet
- An instructional classroom (E-2031)
- A video-conferencing and training seminar room(E-2030B)
- Study tables for group work
- Study carrels for individual students
- Comfortable seating for reading or group discussion
- Display area to showcase student artwork
