Materials Preparation Room
The Materials Preparation Room (E-2030B) is located in the Curriculum Materials Centre. This room has been designed to provide the students of the Education Faculty with a stimulating atmosphere conducive to creating imaginative displays, resourceful learning centers and other visuals that are course-required.
Students have access to a variety of media equipment such as the opaque and overhead projectors and the thermofax. We also have a photocopier which can be used to make transparencies as well as two-sided book copying and other optional accessories. There is a computer with Internet access, as well as software for teachers, and an attached printer. We offer laminating and binding services for a nominal fee. These services are operated by our staff at specified times during the day and evening.
There are approximately 300 resource books on reserve in the MPR which contain activities for art, mathematics, language arts, science, social studies and religion as well as ideas for bulletin board displays. These books contain excellent resource materials for developing thematic learning centres.
We stock an fairly extensive inventory of stationery supplies, bristol board, construction paper, transparencies etc. These supplies are reserved for our Education students completing course assignments. The other services of the MPR are available to all interested individuals.
We are proud of our Centre and we invite you to come visit us. You will see first-hand some of the resourceful activities that the Education students of Memorial University have created.
