Grenfell Campus Archives

MISSION
The Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Archives (GCMUNA) undertakes its activities to maintain an archival resource to aid the campus in its various roles and contexts under Memorial University’s mission statement: to maintain “an inclusive community dedicated to creativity, innovation and excellence in teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and to public engagement and service.”

The Archives will be maintained as an archival repository for materials identified and judged to be of permanent value to the University, to Grenfell Campus, and the public at large within the three main areas of Culture, Society and Economic Heritage. In pursuit of this goal, the Archives will chiefly acquire materials created, received or accumulated by faculty, students and alumni. In addition, materials from private sources will be considered if they meet collection standards. Preferential materials media will be: text, audio, still and moving images, cartographic, print and electronic formats. The Archives' materials will provide source material for faculty, students, alumni, and other members of the University community, as well as scholars, authors, and other interested persons who seek to conduct research and study of deposited materials.
