Importing Citations into RefWorks
Importing References from the Cochrane Library
Method 1.
- Perform a search and mark the references you want to export.
- Click Export Selected Citations (at the bottom of the screen)
- Select Citation or Citation and Abstract.
- Click Go.
- Click Open and copy the information.
- Login into RefWorks.
- Select References/Import from the toolbar.
- Click the option Import Data from the following Text.
- Paste the references into the Text box (using Edit and Paste).
- Choose Wiley InterScience as both the Import Filter/Data Source and Database.
- Click Import.
- Your records should appear in the Last Imported Folder.
- Note: references may need to be edited. Check "This record should be cited as:" section in the Cochrane Library record.
Method 2.
- Steps 1-4 above.
- Click Save and save file as a text file.
- Log in to RefWorks.
- Select References/Import from the toolbar.
- Choose Wiley InterScience as both the Import Filter/Data Source and Database.
- Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer.
- Click Import.
- Your records should appear in the Last Imported Folder.
- Note: references may need to be edited. Check "This record should be cited as:" section in the Cochrane Library record.
