Importing Citations into RefWorks

Importing References from the Cochrane Library

Method 1.
  1. Perform a search and mark the references you want to export.
  2. Click Export Selected Citations (at the bottom of the screen)
  3. Select Citation or Citation and Abstract.
  4. Click Go.
  5. Click Open and copy the information.
  6. Login into RefWorks.
  7. Select References/Import from the toolbar.
  8. Click the option Import Data from the following Text.
  9. Paste the references into the Text box (using Edit and Paste).
  10. Choose Wiley InterScience as both the Import Filter/Data Source and Database.
  11. Click Import.
  12. Your records should appear in the Last Imported Folder.
  13. Note: references may need to be edited. Check "This record should be cited as:" section in the Cochrane Library record.

Method 2.
  1. Steps 1-4 above.
  2. Click Save and save file as a text file.
  3. Log in to RefWorks.
  4. Select References/Import from the toolbar.
  5. Choose Wiley InterScience as both the Import Filter/Data Source and Database.
  6. Browse to find the text file you saved to your computer.
  7. Click Import.
  8. Your records should appear in the Last Imported Folder.
  9. Note: references may need to be edited. Check "This record should be cited as:" section in the Cochrane Library record.
