Microform Viewing and Printing
Note: All microform viewing, scanning and file saving/printing is carried out
through the microform computer station connected to the ScanPro 2000 scanner.
There are no controls on the scanner unit. Use the Epson scanner for
paper documents.
Viewing
- Logon to the Microform/Scanner computer workstation
- Pull out the Loading Tray on the ScanPro 2000 unit to lift the top plate glass.
- Load microfilm by following the diagrams on the load/uptake reels. The film goes between the top and bottom plate glasses. If using microfiche,begin by placing between the top and bottom plate glaPull out the Loading Tray on the ScanPro 2000 unit to lift the top plate

- Load microfilm by following the diagrams on the load/uptake reels. The film goes
between the top and bottom plate glasses. If using microfiche,begin by placing
between the top and bottom plate glasses (usually with top of fiche facing
towards you).
appropriate type of microform to be viewed (i.e. positive/negative microfilm or
microfiche)
- Adjust the loading tray and/or advance the reel until the desired image is
visible on the computer screen.
- Use the buttons on the Adjust tab of the PowerScan 2000 software to
adjust the image as needed.
Saving and Printing
To Print or Save the image:
- Follow the steps under Viewing.
- Click on the File tab to access buttons for saving or printing the image
on the computer screen.
- Click the appropriate Print or Scan button control to print or
save the image as a file. By default scanned images are saved as PDF files
in the My Scans directory.
- If you are printing select the appropriate printer from the drop down menu.
- HSLCommon for B&W print (5¢ / page).
- HP Business Inkjet 1200 for colour print (20¢ / page and $1.50 / transparency).
- Click OK.
- Name your print job and then retrieve from the print computer located in the Print/Copy room.
- Please note that you can delete your file when you are finished working with it or follow the directions below to save the file.
- If you choose to Scan to a file it will be saved as a PDF file in the My Scans
directory which is visible on the computer screen.
- Remember to delete your files when you are finished.
