If you are not a member of Memorial University nor the Health Sciences Centre, you can still use some library services.

Guests include:

Library Card   (777-6671)

Alumni of Memorial can have borrowing privileges at no cost, but you must obtain an Alumni Association card through Student Services (UC-3005). Bring your Alumni Association card to Circulation and it will be set up to act as your library card. This card may be used at all branches of the University Library System including the Queen Elizabeth II Library, the Health Sciences Library, the Dr. C.R. Barrett Library of the Marine Institute, and the Sir Wilfred Grenfell College Library in Corner Brook.

The Guest Library Card may be used at all branches of the University Library System including the Queen Elizabeth II Library, the Health Sciences Library, the Dr. C.R. Barrett Library of the Marine Institute, and the Ferriss Hodgett Library in Corner Brook.

To obtain a library card you must be 19 years of age or older and a resident of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. You must provide a current piece of identification with proof of address (eg. driver's license). Please note there is a $7.00 replacement cost for lost or stolen cards. The responsibility for ANYTHING borrowed with a library card rests with the individual to whom the card is issued. You must have your card with you in order to sign out material.

Generally, books and cd-roms are 2 week loan, and audio-visuals are 1 week. Alumni may not borrow periodicals. Items, except periodicals, can be renewed, provided that there is NO HOLD OR RECALL on it.

Computers

There are a number of workstations within the library that provide access to all of our electronic journals, other resources and the Internet. For more information, see About the Library.

Electronic Journals

The Library's e-journals and other restricted databases are generally not available from outside the Library nor off campus, unless you are also a member of the University. However, you may be eligible to use E-journals and health databases via our NLHKIN service

Colour printing is $0.20 per impression and also by arrangement at the Circulation Desk.
