PubMed - How to make Document Delivery Requests

PubMed's "Order Documents" feature is also known as Loansome Doc. It allows you to submit article requests directly from PubMed to the Health Sciences Library's Document Delivery Service. The following are eligible to use PubMed's order (Loansome Doc) feature:

For all groups, additional costs apply for any special delivery services such as rush, courier or colour.

How do I register as a Loansome Doc User?

  1. If you have not used our Document Delivery service before, contact us by email or phone (709) 777-6628.
  2. Sign up using the Loansome Doc ordering page. This information is stored at NLM and automatically inserted on your orders. When completing the registation form:
    • our Library's Identifier Number is     NLCMUN
    • User ID and Password - members of Memorial, please use your library barcode (21162...) and PIN
    • Delivery Method - mail, pickup or web(PDF) are valid options

    Mail is only for Memorial campus addresses and Distanceplus users. Pickup is for everyone else and indicates that you will come to the library to pickup your completed orders. Web 9PDF) is for everyone. We will email you the link to your article.

How do I order after I'm registered?

  1. Run a literature search using PubMed.
  2. Click the box next to the articles you want to order.
  3. Check our holdings in PubMed and our catalogue before submitting orders.
  4. Under "Send to", choose "Order" then click on "Send to" button.
  5. Enter your User ID and password.
  6. Review orders and delivery information.
  7. Click on Send Order button.
