Books | Articles | Getting books and articles NOT available at Memorial | For Distance Students
Once you know what books you want, note the library, location and call number so you can find them in the library.
Article indexes tell you what articles on your topic exist - in the world! Once you know what articles you want, you must check to see if the Library owns the periodicals in which the articles were published.
When you have an article citation on the screen look for a link or button that says something like "check holdings" or "locate document". Clicking on this link will perform a search of our library catalogue and tell you if one of the Memorial Libraries owns the journal in paper or electronic format. If there is no such link, log into the library catalogue and look up the journal title yourself. Be sure to search for the periodical (or journal) title, not the article title.
If the Library owns the journal in paper format, locate it in the Library. If the Library owns the journal in electronic format, print the article from a computer in the Library or from your home or office.
If you want a book that is not in our library, you might want to request it through document delivery.
If you are studying from a distance, use the Distance Plus Service to have material sent to you.
