Computer Services

Dr. C.R. Barrett Library

The library provides computer access for searching the iLink catalogue in both the entrance area and the reference reading room. These terminals must be restricted to that activity. Search results may be printed at no cost. Help using any of the library related computer services is available from the reference staff.

Patrons have access to the Internet and email on other terminals which are clearly marked for that purpose.

In the Information Commons area inside the library entrance MI students have lab access to software for research and word processing to support their courses as well as email. You must have a computer account and password to use these machines. Printing and scanning is available. Students need to download money from their MUN1 card to their lab account to print. Problems with printing should be reported to MI computer services help desk.

There are two laptops available for MI students at the circulation desk for in-library use only. Persons interested in borrowing a laptop must be an MI student and have a valid student ID card. They may be checked out for a two-hour period and are due back 1 hour before the library closes. Wireless access is available in the library

The library adheres to the Memorial University Appropriate Computer Use Policy. Patrons will be directed to it by library staff as necessary. Games and inappropriate use will not be permitted. Food and drinks must be kept away from the machines.
