Library Cards (864-7423)
- Your MUN Campus Card is your library card, your identification card, and your photocopier card.
- You must have your Campus Card to sign out material from the library.
- If you lend your Campus Card, remember that you are responsible for material signed out on it.
- You must update your card at the Library each semester.

- Service hours within the library vary
- Hours are extended during exams
- Books may be returned through the book drop when the Library is closed
- Between semesters, the hours change
Noise/Cell Phones
- Keep the volume of electronic devices sufficiently low so that others cannot hear.
- Maintain silence in the main reading room.
- Consider all other areas to be designated 'quiet' and keep conversations low.
- Turn off cell-phone ringers while in the Library.
- Place or answer calls on cell-phones only in the main foyer or the external staircases.
Library Privileges (864-7423)
Borrowing Material
- you may borrow books for 2 weeks
- you may not sign out journals
- material must be checked out in person
- individuals living in the immediate area must return books in person

individuals living outside the immediate are may return books by mail or courier. If you do, you are responsible for items lost or damaged during transit, and are required to:
- use sufficient care in packaging
- use some form of registered delivery
- ensure their receipt by the library on or before the due date
Renewals
- Books may be renewed unless someone else has put a HOLD on them.
- Books may be renewed through My Account in the library catalogue.
Place a Hold While in the Library Catalogue
- View the full record of the book you want.
- Select Make a Requst
- Select PLACE A HOLD (on books currently CHECKEDOUT at any library)
- Select your Pickup library from the drop down box (where you want the book sent - i.e. grenfell, qeii, marine, health, cmc)
- Fill in your USER or ALT ID
Books May be Recalled:
- After 2 weeks from your initial charge out date if required by another patron.
- IMMEDIATELY if needed for Reserve. Note:To avoid a Recall fine, return the item within 3 days of the date of the Recall notice.
Fines are charged for:
- Recalled books not returned within 3 days of the date on the bottom of the notice ($2.00/day)
- Overdue Reserve material ($2.00/hour)
- Overdue books (or other material) longer than 3 weeks are considered lost (cost+ $5.00 nonrefundable processing fee)
Photocopying (864-7469 or 864-7423)
- Photocopying may be done with a Campus Card , coin or at Copy Services.
- Photocopying may also be charged to a department or to a research account.
Reserves (864-3193)
Books and articles "On Reserve" are listed in the library catalogue. To search for items by course or instructor, select RESERVE DESKS from the main menu. If you know the author or title of the item you require, you can also search by these fields as you would any other author or title in the library catalogue.
Loan periods vary from 2 hours to 3 days. There is an overdue fine of $2.00 an hour.
Study Space
- Individual and group study rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. These rooms are available for three-hour periods.
- Honours students may also inquire about additional study space.
