Estimated Delivery Times for Intercampus Requests

When you request an item that is on loanin-storagein-processon-order or located at another Memorial University Library the estimated delivery times are:

On loan: 
An item placed on hold will be recalled after the patron has had it for 1 week.  The 1 week period is calculated from the orginial sign-out date, not the renewal date. After the first hold is placed other holds are placed in queue. Notification via MUN email will be sent to you when the book is available.

Off-Site-storage:
We have deliveries from our offsite storage location on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (Requests made on the weekend are processed on Monday for Wednesday delivery). The items will be put on the hold shelf and you will be notified by MUN email.

Note: In the event of statutory holiday or storm closure the pickup time/day will be adjusted.

In-process: 

  • Requests received by 10:00 am Monday - Friday will be ready by 4:00 pm on the same day.
  • Requests received after 10:00 am. Monday - Thursday will be ready by 4:00 pm the next day.
  • Requests received after 10:00 am on Friday or anytime on the weekend will be ready by 4:00 pm on Monday.

On-order
If you find a record in the Catalogue with the status "on order" it means the book has been ordered for the library but has not yet been received. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing when the book will arrive. If you are not in a hurry, you can ask that it be held for you when it arrives. You can also request a document delivery for the item.

Located at another Memorial University Library:
Average delivery time is 5 - 7 working days (Distance students allow 10-14 days for processing and shipping).

You will be notified by MUN e-mail as soon as the item is available for pick up.
