Friday, July 25, 12-1 PM
Join us in the library for an author talk featuring Judith M. Doucette, hosted in partnership with Memorial’s Education Library! Judith M. Doucette (Judy Falle) is a proud member of the Qalipu First Nation Band. She invites Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Peoples to come and learn about the Mi’Kmaw culture and traditions of her ancestors. She currently has three books of her “Poppa” series published with Flanker Press in St. John’s. These books are geared to educating children about the revitalization of the all-but forgotten culture and heritage of the Mi’Kmaw Peoples in Atlantic Canada. It is with great pride and respect for her people that she shares these “Poppa” stories of sacred tradition. Her books challenge us to seek our own Truth, reconciliation, harmony and life balance as we journey through our life paths together. All are welcome.
