What Can I Read?

Library eBooks

The library has eBooks with individual chapters in PDF format that can be downloaded directly to all our readers and some eBook providers will also permit you to download books in EPUB format. You may have to create a free account in order to download content.

Library e-journal Articles

Any PDF e-journal article can be downloaded directly to the eBook readers.

Personal Documents

Personal PDF files can be downloaded directly to the eBook readers. If you would like to download the free Calibre software, you can convert many different file types (like MS Word) to an EPUB file for viewing on the readers.

Free eBooks

Many websites offer free, downloadable eBooks that are in the public domain in EPUB or PDF formats. Free software may be required to download these eBooks.

eBooks Purchased Online

There are many sites that sell eBooks, but some may not be compatible with the Sony or Kobo readers (like Amazon for example). Free software may be required to download eBooks purchased online. Purchased eBooks can be permanently saved on your personal computer, and a copy transferred to one of the library's readers. If you choose to purchase an eBook, make sure the file format is compatible with the reader you have borrowed. Memorial University Libraries is not responsible for any content purchased by individuals.
