Bricolage: The Art of Natural Remedies in Newfoundland & Labrador – An exhibition of artwork by  Lindsay Alcock. The theme of this exhibition is the traditional folk remedies of Newfoundland and Labrador in which most of the art pieces are contain the natural material in some form.

Unseen Labor – A travelling exhibition organized by UMass Amherst metadata librarian Ann Kardos. The art in this exhibition is fiber based and is a collection of cross stitch & embroidery pieces based on the theme of unseen labor by librarians, especially in the form of metadata. This show included 35 artists from all over the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom who work in the library field. The exhibition catalog can be viewed online at: bit.ly/UnseenLabor.

Evolving into Deep Time – A retrospective of the geological artwork of Newfoundland artist Joanne Cole displaying the evolution of her art and exploration of geology through painting.

Political Cartoons - Complied from the Archives & Special Collections material at the Queen Elizabeth II Library, this exhibition showcases reproductions of political cartoons by artists John Meaney, Pete Pickersgill, Dennis Murphy, and Gordon Little.

2018

January – April

Peace by Piece, Quilted Memories of Newfoundland in the Great War - featuring the commemorative quilts of WW1 by the Cabot Quilters Guild. This project contains over 250 quilt blocks, each one telling a story and the exhibition has been showcased in over 30 venues since it opened in May 2016.

Don Wright Scholarship Exhibition – Presented by St. Michael’s Printshop and featured the work of seven emerging artists who completed the Don Wright Scholarship. The 8 artists included are Audrey Hurd, April White, Virginia Mitford, Amery Sandford, Jesse Wardell, Michael Ceiseilski, Lani Burshtein, and the current 2019 Don Wright scholar, Megan Wells.

2017

January - April
25th Anniversary of Grenfell Visual Arts Graduates.  This exhibit features the artwork of alumni of the Fine Arts program of Grenfell campus.  2017 marks 25 years of graduates from the Visual Arts program at the Grenfell Campus of Memorial University.

All Roads Lead to Here: Visual Interpretation of Select Explorations of James P. Howley. – In this exhibit Joanne Cole revisited areas James P. Howley described in his field books and journals while making her own drawings and observations compiled in this exhibit.

Remembering the Fallen Soldiers in Gallipoli with Poppies - Hekmet Cetinkaya.  This exhibit features 20 paintings exclusively depicting the poppy, which is a prominent international symbol of remembrance honouring those who sacrificed so much for their country.  The Republic of Turkey's embassy in Ottawa generously arranged to bring the paintings to the university.
