Contact-less Pickup

How does it work?

Log in to OneSearch to find the item you need. Click on "Request". For the St. John's Campus, we are currently unable to send items to another St. John's library for pickup. For example, if a book is at the Health Sciences Library, it must be picked up there. The Grenfell Library is an exception. We will send materials between the St. John's and Corner Brook campuses.

You will not receive a confirmation email, but if you would like to check on the status of any requests, under "My Stuff", select "Account/Renew Books" and log in with your MUN ID and password. You can view your library account, including your requests.

Once your item is ready, you will receive an email and you can schedule an appointment for contact-less pickup. If you request multiple items, you only need to schedule one appointment. All of your items are held together on our "Holds" shelf under your last name until your appointment time. Items will be checked out to you in advance.

Non-medical face masks, minimum 2-ply, must be worn during pickup and 2m of physical distance must be maintained.

If you are located outside of the St. John's or Corner Brook area, we can mail items that are not available online through our Canada-wide mail delivery service.

Why can't I see "Request"?

  • You are not logged in to OneSearch. You must be logged in with your MUN Login in order to request items.
  • The item you are trying to request is not available. It might be an item that does not circulate (is on reserve or in reference), that is checked out to another user, is in-process, or lost or missing.
  • The "Request" link might be next to each item if there are multiple volumes or different formats available. Click on one of the individual items to locate the "Request" link.
  • The item is located at the Labrador Institute. They are not currently able to fill requests for items.

Please contact the branch that owns the item if you are experiencing difficulties requesting it.

Pickup Information by Branch

QEII Library
Location: Main entrance
Times: Monday-Friday 9:00am-11:45am
A library staff member will be waiting to enable you to access the lobby and collect your library materials during your scheduled pickup time. Please text or call 330-1051 for assistance.

Health Sciences Library
Location MUNMed entrance. Users with access to the HSC can use the library entrance.
Times: Monday and Wednesday, 8:00am-11:30am
A library staff member will be waiting to enable you to collect your library materials during your scheduled pickup time. Please call 864-6070 for assistance. Please select your entrance when booking your appointment.

Grenfell Campus
Times: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm
Pickup of materials is at the entrance to the Library during your scheduled time. Please call 637-6236 for assistance.

Marine Institute Library
Times: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm
A library staff member will bring your items to you during your scheduled pickup time. Please call 778-0662 for assistance. 

Education Library
Location: Side Entrance G.A. Hickman Building
Times: Monday and Thursday, 10:00am-1:30pm
Once you arrive, please call 864-7465 (if busy, try 864-7466). A staff member will meet you and deliver your item(s).

Music Library
Location: Suncor entrance, School of Music. Users with access to the building can use the library entrance.
Times: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-12:30pm
Please phone 864-4471 when you arrive in front of the School of Music (Exit 5) during your scheduled pickup time. A library staff member will be waiting to deliver your item/s to you. Users with access to the building are able to use the library entrance. Please knock for assistance.
