Computers and Software
A login is required for all computers in the Health Sciences Library. For more information about login accounts, see the Public Computer Use Policy.
The Commons computers are centrally located within the library. All computers are equipped with:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- ProQuest for Word
- Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer
- Adobe Reader
The four pods nearest to the computer classrooms can be accessed with a LabNet, HSLab, or MedNet account. Users cannot save to their individual drives on these computers; all saved files are erased on computer restart.
The two pods nearest to the bookstacks can be accessed with a MedNet or HSLab account. Users are able to save to their individual drives on these computers.
The scanner computer station is equipped with a scanner and microform reader. The scanner station is also equipped with Adobe Acrobat Professional. The multimedia workstation and Common 18 workstation are equipped with SPSS.
Computer Classrooms A and B are available to members of the Faculty of Medicine, School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy. A MedNet or HSLab account is required to login and can be obtained from HSIMS. Computers in these labs have all software available on the Commons computers, as well as:
