Strip Designer

Overview

This is a comic building app. It provides the students with the creative power to be able to produce a comic of their choosing. They are able to put in their own pictures or they can draw out the perfect picture for their comic. It gives the students the creative outlet to do what they want. There are speech and thought bubbles to give it a true comic feel. Students have full control over the appearance of their comic from colours, to pictures, to layout to how in depth of a story it is. Overall, I give it 3/5.

Grade Level

Works for all grade levels. At the lower levels it would be more of a guided activity as there are many parts to it that students would not be able to quickly decipher right away. As the students increase in grade level their abilities with this app increase and their independence exponentially increases.

Strength: Gives students the outlet and all the tools to exercise their creativity. There is no right way to do this nor is there a wrong way, it is completely open to interpretation; a blank slate. Works with all grades.

Weakness: I have a very difficult time finding a significant weakness for this app.
